Editorial Review
Always ready to help out stranded drivers in the playroom or on the back patio, this Lights and Sound Tow Truck is a good vehicle to add to your car and truck collection. An all-plastic, hand-powered replica of a real roadside service vehicle, this 13-inch truck is equipped with a working winch and four different light and sound effects, including two horn sounds, a rumbling motor, and the sound of the truck’s towing winch being cranked in. All four sound effects… More >>

We wanted to buy our son a new toy so I took him to the toy store and asked him what he wanted. Immediately he went for the tow truck (he had been talking about it for a week). There were probably 4 or 5 to choose from, but he was instantly captivated by this one. There are buttons to press that simulate the engine cranking, wench winding, etc. And if you’re like me, the batteries are easy to remove – and to put back in. The only thing that wasn’t that durable was the string and plastic hook that you could use to tow another toy. The plastic hook broke on the second day (with rough use), but the truck overall is great. A perfect gift for a 3 or 4 year old boy.

While my almost-3-year-old grandson and I were opening the box, Jacob was already looking for the buttons to press on this tow truck. He loves the sounds! Then I explained to him the tow truck’s job — to help cars that can’t “go” anymore. This truck will take the broken-down car to a garage to get fixed. So, we found a little car he hooked onto the tow truck. Right now, he’s learning how to work the winch. And, the lights on this toy are VERY impressive! I told him this truck is not afraid of the dark. It has to help people all day and all night long. Last, but not least, we put M&M candy in the “secret compartment” in case SOMEONE got hungry while on the job. Great toy! Loads of fun! Well made, very colorful, not too heavy.

Last Christmas I brought this toy for my 2 year old son and he LOVES it! The lights and sounds give him the real feeling of being the driver of the truck. He’s had this toy for 11 months now and so far nothing has broken and the paint has not chipped. It still looks like new. I am so impressed that I am also going to buy him the lights and sound fire engine. This toy was well worth the money!

We got this truck and the Tonka Lights and Sound Rescue Helicopter for our boys, three and five for Christmas. The five-year-old is most interested in them. One problem for us has been that the hooks on both items come off all the time. I am constantly retying them and making sure we don’t lose them. The other thing I wish I had done was to provide something for the boys to tow and rescue so that when they opened the gifts, they had a way to use them right away. Otherwise, a great buy.

I was given a birthday list with tow truck being #1, he loves it! This child plays with trucks constantly and boys can be rough, this truck is the best.
